Still....no baby

Well, I'm 3 days overdue today. I went 3 days over with Rosslyn but it was technically like 2 1/2 because I had her at 9am on the 3rd day. But here it is almost 1pm on my 3rd overdue day and still nothing. The doctor stripped my membranes at my appointment yesterday and it hurt like a bitch. For reals. It was almost as if I could feel him poking the baby's head or something. Definitely not a pleasant experience. I don't know what I'm gonna do. Jordan has tonight and tomorrow and Monday until midnight off so I'm praying she decides to come before then. I honestly don't want to be induced but I don't know what I'll do if she doesn't decide to come on her own.

Everything is ready. Her car seat is here, just waiting to go in the car, the hospital bag is packed and waiting in the car. We come up with a plan for who will watch Rosslyn every day in case something happens...but still, nothing yet.

I thought I was going into labor on Monday night because my contractions were about 6-8 minutes apart and because of what happened with Rosslyn, I didn't want to wait too long. But we stayed at the hospital for a couple hours and nothing progressed and we were sent home.

Since the doctor has stripped my membranes, I've had some contractions but nothing consistent and not really back labor like I had with Rosslyn. She just moves around and it feels like really bad period cramps. But those are sporadic at best. I am just about at the end of my rope with her and I'm about ready to go jump on a trampoline or something! LOL Ok, that was a joke. I am trying to keep the house clean and bend over for sweeping and mopping in hopes that it will do something but we'll just have to see. So please, send me all the labor vibes you can! I need them!!

Dear Aurelia....

You have 6 days until you are scheduled to arrive and I cannot wait. Although, if you decide to come early, please wait until at least Saturday so your dad can be here. Because you see, he missed the birth of your big sister because he was fighting for his country. However, that's not the case now and mom and dad would both like for him to be there.

I have our hospital bag packed. It's full to the brim with clothes for you to start modeling.

I cannot wait to see you in your adorable dress.

Your bassinet is set up and is waiting for you

Mommy doesn't think her belly can get much bigger

But I know you'll come in your own time. I do wish you would wait a while though. The car seat we ordered isn't here yet either and even though aunt Sammy is going to let us borrow one of hers, I'd like to have the one we ordered you.

So I hope you will hear, see or experience through osmosis this letter and know that even though you are loved beyond belief, stay in mommy's belly for just a little bit longer!
Love,
Mom

Belly and Baby Shower Pictures

Saturday was my baby shower and although not a lot of people came, I did get a lot for miss Aurelia!! It was definitely fun to have all my family members in my house but it was a bit cramped. Jordan's parent's came down for the day and we were able to go eat dinner with them before they had to leave. Anyways, enjoy the pictures!

Pictures of Aurelia!

Monday I had a baby doctor's appointment. I got the final ultrasound of my pregnancy. And also I had my group B strep test. Yuck. Aurelia is doing so good. She's about 4lbs which is a tiny bit under the norm. But she's still within the good range. Seeing the ultrasound made it that much more real that in 7 weeks (eeeek!!) we'll have a new member of the family. I am excited, scared, nervous, anxious, tired and happy all from just thinking about it. I probably got the best news when the doctor said she had hair! Rosslyn was a baldy and didn't really start getting hair until last year. I've only been able to put her hair in pigtails since a little bit before she turned two. I hope Aurelia has dark hair like me. But if it's reddish-blonde like Jordan's and Rosslyn's I'll be happy too. So, here's the part you're all wanting to see, pictures!!!

Making sure she's still a she!

Hair!!

Gorgeous girl

Look at those pouty lips!

The hard stuff: creating a birth plan

So Jordan and I were talking a little bit today and chances are looking good that he won't be here for the baby's birth, again. And I'm ok with it. I know it will suck but I just have to get over it and just enjoy the experience as much as I can.

And speaking of which, I'm going to try to switch doctors after my next appointment. Because we'll be (hopefully) moving and driving all the way to Tennessee will be very difficult. But I do have some reservations about switching doctors.

Both of my sisters had their babies with the doctors in Somerset. They were all healthy and happy. Though all of them, and it seems like all the babies in our family, had jaundice so they had to stay an extra day. Nothing serious, just a few rounds of UV therapy and they were perfectly fine, including Rosslyn. Anyway, it seemed to me like the doctors were too eager to get the babies out on their due dates and would do it by any means necessary. Including being in labor for over 24 hours. That was my sister Sam.

After having Rosslyn the way I did, I have a few reservations about hospitals and if it were up to me, Aurelia would be born at home too. But, if it were also up to me, I'd be going to the same doctor I went when I was pregnant with Rosslyn. She was the kindest doctor and made me feel so relaxed and at ease.

So, when I switch doctors, I want to have a set birth plan. And unless it's absolutely medically necessary, I don't want to deviate from that plan. I know I sound like a snooty mom who thinks she knows more than doctors but I don't. I know my body more than anything else and I'm not going to be strapped down to a bed with wires going in and out of me. The bottom line of my birth plan is I want to be able to move around during contractions, I do not want any pain medication at all and I don't want to be pushed to do anything that I don't want to.

Up at this hospital, honestly, 90% of women I've seen all formula feed their babies. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. I formula fed Rosslyn for 7 months. However, I want to breastfeed and I don't want it to be looked at like it's dirty or wrong. My younger sister tried at the hospital I may be going to and she said it didn't feel right to her. I believe this is partly due to lack of encouragement from the hospital staff and her husband. I don't know though, maybe she just couldn't do it, so I'm going to leave it at that.

I don't want anyone to think I'm a super-crunchy mom or anything like that. I am very simple and don't want things complicated. Is that too much to ask? I know that when the time comes down to it, whatever my birth plan may be, or what the doctors have in mind, may go out the window because of some unforeseen complication. But as of right now, I know what I want and if it isn't followed almost perfectly by the doctors, legal action may be taken.

New bloggy look!!

I'm excited to finally have a 100% customized blog look that's completely my own! My friend Brie at Et Cetera Life does custom blog layouts and she made this gem for me! I can't thank her enough, really. And the best part of all? I have my own BUTTON!!! So, if you think my blog is worthy enough to be linked to yours, just snag the code to the left!!

Also I'm so glad it's September which means I have a birthday soon!!! 4 days to be exact! And I guess it's up to me to bake the cake or cupcakes. Which I guess is good because I can make it exactly how I want. Also, Jordan starts his job this month, too! He'll be gone some time for training in Georgia for 3 weeks. I'm not sure when that will be so it's still a gray area whether or not he'll be here when the baby's born. I'd really like him to be here since he missed Rosslyn's birth but if he can't and it's for his job, I'm ok with that too. I know he isn't too emotional about pregnancy and he'll be a lot happier once the baby is here.

Hopefully within the next couple months, we'll have saved up enough money to move! We're looking to move up in Somerset and looking to find a 3 bedroom 2 bath duplex. Which shouldn't be hard because one of Jordan's friends lives in a 3br 2 ba duplex. We just need to drive around all the little subdivisions up there.

That's just about it from this end. I'll probably do a pregnancy update later on tonight but I just wanted to do a quick recap of what's been going on.

And a bonus.....

Belly picture!!! I've been taking most of them like this because I'm never around our single full length mirror.

And I also ordered these maternity jeans from Kohl's and I can't wait to wear them. They were originally $56 but finally went on sale friday so I scooped them up for $40!!

I just need cute shirts now since just about everything I have is getting too tight and too short on me. I'm sure I can find some pieces and work with them but I'm mainly a jeans and t-shirt kinda girl so nothing too fancy.

24 Week Baby Update

Yesterday I had my 24 week appointment. Everything went fine. I did tell the doctor that I had been cramping a little and she said I should be ok as long as they don't get worse and aren't accompanied by any sort of discharge. And she told me I needed to stay hydrated especially since it's been so hot lately. Her heartbeat was pretty high (I think 156 maybe more) and she was very active. You can even start feeling her move from the outside now. And she's going more to the middle of my belly now instead of staying down below my belly button.

Next time I go is the glucose test. I really hate drinking that orange stuff because it's like overly sweet, flat orange soda. And then afterward, you have to have your blood taken which is the best part of all!! (not)

I haven't been in much of a picture taking mood but I did snap a few on Saturday and I don't think my belly has changed that much since then. This is a picture I posted on my Twitter so for all those who looked at it there, here it is again!!

Baby # 2 Wishlist

Now that we know what baby # 2 is, (girl btw) I'm ready to start looking at pretties for her. So here are some things I'd really like to get for baby sis. I think I've almost sold Jordan on the carseat and instead of getting a double stroller, I'm just going to carry her in a carrier (sling or mei tai. I really want a mei tai) and keep Rosslyn in the stroller. Then, when she's big enough to go into the stroller, Rosslyn will be able to walk better by herself and we won't have to chase after her as much.

Without further adieu, here are some things I want for baby sis!!!

Chicco Keyfit 30 carseat.

gDiapers New Baby Bundle. I haven't fully convinced Jordan on it but I'm hoping he will get on board with the idea soon.

Carter's Little Sister set

This adorable brown gingham dress from Carter's

I have a custom Babyhawk that I've designed, and would love to have but I can't figure out how to get an image of it. Oh well. I hope to get the little sister outfit and the carseat for definite. I hope everyone has a great day!!

It's a........

GIRL!!!!!

I swear, I thought it was going to be a boy. I was finally ok with the fact that I was sure it was going to be a boy but when my doctor said there were definitely girly parts down there, I just didn't believe him!

Other than that, everything was great, she (!!!!) is healthy and is growing great. She's about 10oz now. I have a few ultrasound pictures but I need to take pictures of them because we don't have a scanner. There was one cool thing saw while the doctor was doing the ultrasound, he had a 3D shot of her up and was trying to get a good view of her face and it totally looked like a skull. Hahaha it was neat.

I know Jordan (and all of his family) wanted a boy, but they're all excited. Although Jordan said something that just broke my heart, after I showed him the ultrasound pictures, he said "I don't guess I'll ever get my boy." And I just about died. I know he'll love her but I know how bad he wanted a boy.

So, now that we know what it is, we still need to iron out the details on her name. We're pretty much settled on a first name but need to work on the middle name. But I will make an announcement once we've decided.

That's all I have for now, I can't wait to start buying things for her and digging out Rosslyn's old clothes and letting the new baby wear them!!

19 Weeks Pregnant post

This past Wednesday, I was 19 weeks pregnant. And I feel about the same. I'm noticing my belly will get huge after I eat supper. And it stays big the rest of the night. I'm also finally noticing little flutters and movement. I can definitely tell where the baby is positioned. It likes to stay on my right side.

I haven't had any weird cravings or anything but I am wanting something cold and refreshing a lot more. Like fruit or water. Maybe I'm just dehydrated lol. This morning I woke up with killer back pain though and a completely full bladder. Which I thought I emptied before I went to bed. That part is going to kill me. I have been taking the occasional nap when Rosslyn does, especially last week. I went to bed every time she did.

Monday we finally find out what we're having. Although it'll just be me because Jordan's going to stay with Rosslyn because the one time we took her to the doctor's office with me, she went crazy. She ran everywhere and was just a complete handful. I'm almost positive it's going to be a boy because 2 other girls I know who are pregnant and due around the same time are having boys. But I'm holding on to a glimmer of hope that it's a girl. If it is a boy, I just don't want Jordan to be too hard on him when he's growing up.

Anyways!! Here is a picture I took last night of my belly:

And just as a comparison, here I am at 20 weeks with Rosslyn:

Am I bigger? Smaller? The same size? I think I'm about the same size. But I'm definitely not as round as I was.

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

It's a.......

surprise still!!!

I went to my doctor appointment today, got weighed, blood pressure checked, peed in a cup and sent to the ultrasound room. Then, about 15 minutes later, a nurse came in and said they scheduled my appointment on the wrong day. It was supposed to be a month later instead of just a week. So, my new appointment is on the 28th of this month.

So I'm sorry to disappoint anybody. I was more mad at the receptionist for scheduling it wrong. But it's ok.
